Creating the look you want
A thigh lift is designed to restore a tighter and more youthful appearance to the thigh. Candidates for the procedure often have excessive skin and fat tissue as a result of significant weight loss or the result of aging. A long scar on the inside of the thigh is required in exchange for an improved contour.
Our targeted approach
There are different techniques for a thigh lift, but in general an ellipse of skin is removed from the inner thigh and excess skin and fat is removed within that pattern. The incision may need to be extended past the knee or into the groin to have an optimal contour/result.
A thigh lift is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. The operation will be performed at Auburn Surgery Center.
Ensuring an effective recovery
Recovery will vary with each patient but most patients feel ready to return to non-strenuous work within 1 week of surgery. You will want to wear compression wraps or garments for 3-4 weeks after surgery to help decrease swelling and to optimize your result. Drains are usually placed and are often removed within 7-10 days of surgery. You should avoid exercise or submerging your incisions under water until we instruct you otherwise.
